ID.me is searching for a results-oriented Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). The ideal candidate will care deeply about the success of the company, possess a superior intellect, and set ambitious but attainable goals for the department. A history of exceptional accomplishment driving demand, preferably in a B2B or B2B2C marketing environment, is important.

ID.me’s product supports multiple verticals, including Federal Government, State Government, Healthcare, Financial Services, and E-Commerce, so a successful candidate will have the intellectual agility to support the marketing needs of different vertical owners. With resources from ID.me’s recent 19 million Series B raise, ID.me’s CMO will be responsible for planning and implementing systems and processes to prepare the marketing department for scale. While the CMO will be responsible for all aspects of the marketing department, the ideal candidate will particularly excel at content marketing, thought leadership, and field marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop ID.me’s content marketing capacity to establish ID.me as a thought leader within target verticals in order to drive inbound leads and speed the sales cycle
  • Own positioning, messaging, branding, segmentation, and marketing strategy
  • Continuously refine comprehensive go to market plan with input from Sales & BD
  • Generate effective product marketing collateral such as product demonstrations, case studies, white papers, webinars, solution comparisons, and similar to educate target buyers and influencers about ID.me’s differentiated value proposition
  • Utilize market & competitive research to segment and define target markets, refine and improve the product value proposition, and implement best market entry strategy
  • Ensure rigor and discipline across company-wide programs that support integrated marketing and business development models
  • Work closely with the CEO and vertical owners to develop and execute dynamic campaigns that drive growth for their target segments
  • Significantly improve the company’s market-specific lead generation capabilities
  • Improve ID.me’s marketing communications materials including collateral and direct response programs, trade shows, and web/interactive/social media
  • Establish a collaborative, results-oriented and data-driven marketing department
  • Manage all aspects of marketing planning, budgeting, metrics and reporting
  • Manage external agencies and relationships with marketing services

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of SaaS, inbound marketing, and "land and expand" B2B sales
  • 10+ years of well-rounded marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility, with a focus on expansion and identifying emerging market trends
  • Demonstrated success at a high growth startup of 50 – 100 people
  • Proven mastery of marketing principles, demand generation, brand, and sales and business development
  • Experience working with a variety of marketing and communications functions, including branding and messaging to different target audiences
  • Proficiency at all aspects of email marketing, online advertising, and working with the press and other media
  • Familiar with cybersecurity, authentication, and/or Identity & Access Management
  • Bachelor's degree. Top-school MBA is preferred
